We install Chemical-resistant and durable 1.25m x 3m solar panels backed by a 2 year manufacturers warranty. It is advised to use an average of 1 solar panel per 10,000 liters of pool water. Solar heating is a cost-effective and environmentally friendly method that leaves no carbon footprint. The sun heats the water as it passes through the solar panels before returning to the pool. Solar panels can increase pool temperature by up to 40% without additional electricity costs and entail minimal maintenance expenses after installation.
Flat sheet solar panels typically last between 10 to 20 years, depending on various factors such as quality of materials, maintenance, climate conditions, and proper installation. Regular maintenance, such as cleaning the panels to remove dirt and debris, can help extend their lifespan.
Do not use a pool heater or solar heating panels during the curing period until all plaster dust has been removed on newly resurfaced Marbelite pools. This may be achieved within the first 28 days after resurfacing. Use BioGuard® scale inhibitor to prevent scale as part of the monthly maintenance routine for all Marbelite pools, especially heated pools. Calcium, minerals and other pollutants can precipitate out of the water with an increase in temperature. High Alkalinity and high pH are associated with scale and staining on pool and tile surface.
Water chemistry parameters should remain constant during the curing period and its lifetime Do not use a pool cover until 28 days after resurfacing, and if a cover is necessary for the safety of children, it needs to be removed twice a day, daily during the curing period in order to brush, perform regular testing of PH, chlorine and alkalinity. Please note that after the curing period, pools with covers need to brushed regularly at least 2-5 times a week as ongoing maintenance. Pool covers need to be removed when using oxidizers. This allows the body of water to properly breathe so that co2 and generated gasses caused by oxidizers may escape the pool. Oxidizers and pool chemicals use active oxygen to consume nonbacterial waste, converting it to gasses that enter the atmosphere.
